The Story of Mommy Minutes
One day when my daughter was about two, she was upset about something. I asked her if she needed a "Mommy Minute" - time in my lap to cuddle and calm down. She said, "Yes", and ever since, I have been giving her and her younger brother a Mommy Minute whenever they needed one. But I eventually realized that sometimes even I needed a Mommy Minute - time to relax and "get away from it all". And occasionally, I needed a whole bunch of Mommy Minutes!
Before I had children, I was a high school teacher. I had breaks during the year to relax and unwind. Then, I became a stay-at-home mom, and I have been working pretty much non-stop ever since! I realized that if I took time for myself every now and then, I was actually a better mom. Just like when I was teaching, those little breaks help to rejuvenate me and relieve some of the stresses that gradually build up over time.
Every mom needs time to herself, but sometimes she needs to be reminded. So with this in mind, Mommy Minutes, LLC was created with the idea of helping others take advantage of those few precious minutes that we get to relax during the day. As a Mom, I realize just how busy the day can be and how much of life can get filtered down to the essentials as our families take priority. Small things like letting a bite of chocolate melt in your mouth, or relaxing for 10 minutes in a bath, or reading a short inspirational story all seem to become rare luxuries to the busy parent trying to juggle the needs of a family.
Many companies out there offering gift baskets are focused on selling as much as possible, and while they may be nice, there isn't much room for your own personal touch. At Mommy Minutes, each gift is treated as a custom creation, and we know how important it will be that each item is just right. There are no assembly lines here - just a Mommy (with the help of a Dad) taking the time to make the perfect gift - a basket full of Mommy Minutes!
